Overview
This year my boss had a solar and battery system installed. During the summer the PV generates enough to fill his batteries and cover his consumption. But in the winter that might not be the case, so he plans to use his off peak night rate tariff to pre-charge the batteries for the day ahead. The question is how much energy do you add?
Too much, and excess solar is exported to the grid - putting un-necessarry cycles on the battery for a poor financial return in terms of export rate.
Too little, and his house will need to import during the expensive peak import rate.
You might be able to tell that this tool was entirely generated by Claude Code, and I think it did a pretty good job. I'm just hosting it here so I can easily share the link.
